Merry Christmas! 🎄🎁❄️ Happy National Cat Day! 🐈😊🐈‍⬛😺 October 29 celebrates cats and raises awareness of the many sweet souls waiting in shelters. My rescue friend Ezra reminds me every day how much joy and comfort a rescued cat can bring. If you can, please consider adopting, fostering, donating, or volunteering. Also celebrating International Cat Day on August 8, National Black Cat Day on October 27, and National Pet Day on April 11 — every day is a good day to help a shelter cat. Ezra sends a loud purr and a slow blink. Studies from USC, Frontiers in Neuroscience, the Save The Music Foundation, Harvard, and the Arts Education Partnership all highlight how music training improves memory, attention, and executive function. These very skills help students thrive in every subject. Research also indicates that music enhances math skills, particularly in areas such as fractions, patterns, and spatial reasoning. Beyond academics, music has been shown to help alleviate symptoms of Alzheimer’s and support cognitive health as we age. A well-rounded education needs the arts. Music isn’t just extra.
